The Independent Blonde encompasses my passion for self-care and helping others achieve a high quality lifestyle. Before launching my business, I worked as a Canadian civil engineer. I dedicated time to figuring out the best way to achieve a goal and solved problems with available resources. When I started my blog, I wanted to inspire others to have the confidence to follow their own path and know that being different is something to be embraced.
Through my writing and content, I hope to inspire you to live in alignment with the life you’ve always dreamed of.
When I decided what I wanted to study in university, I was fixated on solving issues related to climate change. I completed a degree in civil engineering, hoping I would be able to make a positive impact.
After working as an engineer for a few years, I decided I wanted to have freedom over my schedule and own a business that I could work on anywhere. I decided to share my passion for wellness, fashion, free-thinking and health with readers to help them take better care of themselves and reach their full potential.
The individual who does not read has no advantage over the individual who cannot read. The Independent Blonde fosters a community that grows from each other and helps each other find the support and resources required to intelligently navigate life.
I believe to succeed you are required to unbind yourself from rules others have coerced you into believing. To build an awareness that many aspects of your life are structured in a way to serve others. At the Independent Blonde, we think critically about ideas and who benefits from a certain belief. We are not sheep, and we do not let others control our decisions related to our relationships, career, and aesthetics.
Fashion and beauty is art, it creates energies and sends messages. Knowing how to harness this energy through the clothing you wear is a skill. This is key for the spaces you live in as well as the places you go and the impression you want to leave. I take pride in my appearance and the appearance of the spaces I spend time in.
I cannot fathom a better partner for me. I place a high value on picking your partner based on the quality of your relationship and the connection you have - not who others expect you should be with.
The physical "you" carries you through this life and defines the quality of life you may enjoy. I want to share with you how I face the self-care challenge and help you to succeed as well.
The path forward in life is not always clear, there is room for movement. This path fostered my work ethic and ability to be analytical.
Visiting Paris this May and staying in one of the most luxurious hotels in the city was a trip I had only dreamed of.
